Mork & Mindy[]
Vicki Frederick fresh of her Critics Award for Best Actress in Dancin' on stage in New York and counterpart Debra Jo Fondren were cast as Nirvana's Necroton Lieutenants to play alongside Raquel Welch in the episode Mork Vs. The Necrotons.
Unfortunately, as has been well documented, both women were reportedly treated with disrespect by Welch. With Howard Storm in particular recounting how the two ladies sat alongside Welch in the read through and then asked who was playing 'her lieutenants' after the two women had departed, pretending not to have noticed either of them as they sat alongside of her. She then attempted to get the show runners to put dog masks on both women and let her lead them around by leashes for the entirety of the episode. Her treatment of both of them, alongside that of show star Pam Dawber, and other onset behaviors, unfortunately revealed a side of the star that appears unprofessional and seriously insecure at best.
Despite this, Vicki and Debra behaved professionally, and despite the obvious limitations of their roles, which were there to provide ABC's requested 'jiggle factor' did a competent job, with Vicki in particular in the role of Sutra leading the quasi uprising against the Nirvana character when she failed to carry out her assigned task by the leaders of Necroton in regards to Mork.
