Tom Kindle (December 30, 1948 - February 12, 1996 in Los Angeles) was an American character actor, who (like Dick Yarmy and George Pentecost) appeared three times in three different roles in Mork & Mindy, from Season 1 through Season 3.
Biography[]
Tom Kindle was born n St. Louis, Missouri, USA (30th December 1948). And was known via his nickname of Tommy, Tom-Tom. A graduate of the University of North Carolina, Kindle served in the Army infantry in Vietnam. [1][2]
He died aged 47 (February 12, 1996) in Los Angeles, California, USA from AIDs related complications
Career[]
He launched his career in New York landing in such mid-'70s off-Broadway plays as The Soldier (1975) His work in small theaters in Los Angeles included “Here Today Gone Tomorrow,” “A Touch of the Poet,” “The Martian Chronicles” and “Time Will Tell.”
His first Feature Credit was for 1977's 'Supervan' he also appeared in Alligator (1980) Buddy Buddy (1981) The Rocketeer (1991)
Kindle started showing up on television in the mid '70s beginning with a guest appearance on The Incredible Hulk (1979), other TV Work included Fantasy Island (1979), Little House on the Prairie (1979), Alice (1981), Flamingo Road (1981), M*A*S*H (1981-82), After M*A*S*H (1983-84). Cheers (1985), Remington Steele (1985), Highway to Heaven (1985-87), Designing Women (1987-91), Simon and Simon (1988), Falcon Crest (1990) ,Family Matters (1993).
Mork & Mindy[]
Tom appeared three times in Mork & Mindy over the course of three seasons as three very different characters:
Rick - creep George's friend who ends up taking Mork's corner in Season 1's Mork's Greatest Hits
Lloyd Prescott - A member of the Pure Power league that Mork goes to on behalf of Nelson, not realizing they are out and out racists in Season 2's The Night They Raided Mind-ski's
Bozz - Wheels' conniving jailbird sidekick who aids in Wheels in trying to sabotage the competitive cross country skating race between Mork and Wheels in Season 3's Dueling Skates
