The Matron is the women's jailer at Boulder County Jail where Mindy is imprisoned during Cheerleaders in Chains, and is played by Judy Pioli.
Character Summary[]
The Matron is a former Roller Derby athlete turned correctional officer, now in charge of the Women's Section of the Boulder County Jail. An attractive blonde, she's also around 6ft tall, physically fit and very strong, towering over both Mork and Mindy, and easily able to handle both them and more robust characters. She has an acerbic sense of humor, promising only to wear Mindy's expensive cardigan 'on special occasions' when she takes it off her, calling Mork 'shorty'. That said she enjoys a party, and finds Mork turning up with a cake in the shape of a 'Saw' for Mindy's 'birthday', very funny. Not stupid however, she doesn't let either of them handle the knife, and on cutting the cake finds the actual saw that Mork planted inside of it.
While Mork gets away that time, she catches him after Mork slices through the cell wall to break Mindy out, and handcuffs him to the bars, ironically at the same time as Mindy is finally released. However, when she returns with a Deputy Sheriff, they find only the handcuffs, Mork having broken out of them, climbed out through the hole he created, and then used his finger to seal the wall back up as if it never happened, leaving the Matron to bemoan to her colleague that she definitely took too many hits to the head when she was involved in the Roller Derby.
Personality[]
Gruff, but humorous, and with a soft side, finding Mork's 'birthday' attentions to Mindy very sweet, and evidently enjoys a party herself.
