Strand's Repair Shop, as the name suggests deals with the repair of household electrical devices from waffle irons to juke boxes.

Location[]

Strand's Repair Shop is located just off the Pearl Street Mall in Boulder, Colorado across from an Antiques Store.

Owned By[]

Strand's Repair Shop is owned by the (initially, miserly) Augustus J. Strand.

About[]

Mindy, with Mork in tow as support, is brought to Augustus Strand's Repair Shop after continued altercations with the repair man who had, purportedly. repaired her portable record player, but which broke down again. After repeatedly trying to reason with him, only to be told by Strand that he would repair her record player again as long as she paid the fee again, an infuriated Mindy marches down to the Mall area to confront him.

TAA - Warpath

An infuriated Mindy tells Mork what she'd like to do to Strand.

Strand however refuses to back down in the face of her assertion that has he hadn't actually fixed it the first time, but said he had, he should repair it properly, without charge, this time. She threatens to expose him via her role in KTNS, as one of the many gougers out there ripping people off, but again he is unimpressed, leaving her telling Mork that if she wasn't a lady she'd happily punch Strand's lights out. When Mork tries to intervene on her behalf however, Strand is as equally unimpressed with Mork's attempts at Robert Conrad-esque Machismo in backing her up.

Strand tells Mindy if she doesn't want to pay up she'll just have to contact the maker to get it fixed under warranty, in Taiwan. Aggravated, Mindy grabs her player and storms out, Strand chasing Mork (still trying to reason with him) out after her.

After Mork's attempts to find a legal route to try and enforce Mindy's rights come to a dead end, due to the length of time it would take. A stray comment by Mindy to her father about how too many people are taken advantage of like this every year, set's Mork's inner wheels start spinning, and he tells her he has a better idea...but won't tell her or Fred what it is, before he leaves.

TAA - Guilty

The Ghost of Prosecutors Past

What it is is a part 12 Angry Men / part A Christmas Carol ordeal for Augustus Strand. The repair man counting his money alone after his shop closed, put through a trail by the 'angry' unrepaired items in his shop, with Mork acting as prosecutor, defense attorney and judge. The machines in the shop finding Strand guilty, leading to a freaked out Strand begging for another chance and converting his behavior in a Scrooge like manner turning up at Mindy's apartment the next day and flabbergasting her (in front of a smug Mork) with his sudden conscientious person around his job.
