Sandie Newton is an American actor, guest show correspondent/host and talent agent, who appeared as Jennifer, one of Mindy's college friends in Season 1's In Mork We Trust.
Biography[]
After graduating from college in New York City, Sandie settled in Los Angeles, working as an actress from the mid 70s through to 1980 before diversifying and getting her first break in broadcasting as the co-host of FOX's "PM Magazine." [1]
She was married to Gary DeVore (14 February 1981 - 1985) (divorced)
Career[]
Sandie got her first screen credit for the Hardy Boys / Nancy Drew crossover 2 part episode Mystery of the Hollywood Phantom. Over the course of the next three years she went on to appear in numerous well known TV shows including CHiPs, Starsky & Hutch, Charlie's Angels and Happy Days. [2]

She also appeared in the TV Movie, Goober & the Truckers' Paradise (1978). After a 41 year hiatus from acting she returned to appear as a News Anchor in short movie Aftermath (2021).
After moving into broadcasting and getting her first break, she went on to host "Hollywood Insider" on USA Network from 1985 for 6 years and appeared as a regular contributor on the nationally syndicated "Hour Magazine" and "Great Weekend."
She became the entertainment reporter and film critic for KCAL in Los Angeles for 4 years and received 2 Emmy nominations and one Los Angeles Press Club Award for Excellence in Journalism. In 1991, she was hired as one of the original anchors for E! Entertainment Television where she was nominated for an Cable Ace Award for "Extreme Close-Up."
Two years later, NBC hired her for the network daytime celebrity interview show "One on One" with John Tesh. While at NBC, she hosted "The Hollywood Report" with Wayne Rogers on AMC and became the national anchor for "Primetime Tonight" until 1998, when she moved to Dallas with her family. While at CBS 11 and TXA 21, Sandie was nominated for three Emmys and has won a Katie Award for excellence in journalism.
Sandie was was honored with a nomination for the inaugural National Entertainment Reporting Award from the Los Angeles Press Club in 2007 and another nod came in 2009. Sandie currently reports on "Reel Talk" and Hollywood Steals for Hallmark Channel's Emmy nominated daily 2 hour show "Home and Family" hosted by Mark Steines and Debbie Matenopolis. [1]
Mork & Mindy[]
Sandie played Jennifer a college friend of Mindy's at the party she's hosting in the Apartment, running the game of Tangled they are all involved in, at least until Mr. Bickley arrives to berate them for the noise they're making. With Bickley threatening a sit in, it's Jennifer that calls it (at 8.30) leads the exodus out, leaving Bickley to Mindy and Mork.
