Ricky Day is the Activities Manager at The Lazy Hacienda Dude Ranch in New Mexico, that Mindy takes Mork to on a vacation that's recalled in Season 2's Mork's Vacation. Played by Jack Dodson.

About Ricky[]

Ricky and his wife run the activities at the dude ranch that Mindy takes Mork to after their first attempt at a vacation at Exidor's cabin (Skyflakes Keep Falling On My Head) nearly freezes them to death. As an attempt to thaw themselves out it works too well, with Mork getting badly sunburned, and, as it transpires not really showing much of an affinity for horses, falling off his and getting dragged (through a cactus patch) for several miles.

Despite Mindy's attempts to buoy him, a suffering Mork is no mood for the arrival of the enthusiastic Ricky Day who is looking for two more for shuffle board that afternoon...to give him a total of 2. Outlining Roy Rogers and Dale Evans "The Early Years!!" movie nights, long hikes out into the desert, and making lanyards, Ricky is oblivious (or deliberately so) to the couples underwhelmed state.

Mindy seeing Mork's reaction, tells Ricky that while they sound great, she and Mork would like to rest, and immediately regrets saying it as Ricky gets the wrong idea, smirking, Mork regretting it even more when Ricky slaps him on his sunburned back telling him to enjoy his 'rest'. After he leaves, Mork tries to be a good sport and offers to shuffle boards with her, make ashtrays, but she asks him what he wants to do, and he confesses, to go home.

Personality[]

Ricky is jovial and upbeat as befits an activity director trying to get people involved in things, but is either deliberately obtuse to their levels of enthusiasm, or extremely good at getting people to do what they don't want to do.
