Philip John Taylor is an English writer, actor and producer who worked as a writer and story editor on Mork & Mindy during it's Season 2 run (1979 - 1980)
Biography[]
Philip Taylor spent his childhood in rural England, before going on to study drama for several years at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts, performing Shakespeare on the international stage. He describes his career as that of “being in the right place at the right time”, and how he became a TV writer almost accidentally.
Finishing in Hollywood he moved on to teaching film and television writing at Arizona State University.
Career[]
He got his first writing screen credit for the TV Series Big John, Little John in 1976, following that up with episodes of Good Times (1978), The Amazing Spiderman (1978), The Incredible Hulk (1978), What's Happening! (1979) Carter Country (1978-79), Struck by Lightning (1979), Eight is Enough (1981), The Brady Brides (1981) Too Close for Comfort (1982), The Fall Guy (1985), Knight Rider (1986), Forever Knight (1992), Murder She Wrote (1995-96), Silk Stalkings (1996).
He also wrote and produced over 30 episodes for the Duncan Regher starring, Zorro TV Series (1991 - 1993) and Highlander (1992)
He also wrote the cult movie classic “Lust in the Dust”, starring Tab Hunter and Divine.
His last screen writing credit was for Soldier of Fortune, Inc. (1998)
Mork & Mindy[]
With writing partner Bruce Kalish, Philip Taylor contributed to 4 2nd Season stories as writer, and working on a further 12 that season as story editor. One of his contributions as a writer being, unfortunately, the episode (alongside the Necroton Double Header) widely regarded as the weakest installment, the Mork as Cheerleader episode 'Hold that Mork'.
