Nancy Steen is an American actor, writer and producer who appeared in Season 2's The Night They Raided Mind-ski's, as Helen Anderson.
Biography[]
Nancy Steen was born on January 31, 1950 in Shoreview, Minnesota. She Is an alumna of Dudley Riggs' The Brave New Workshop Comedy Theatre in Minneapolis, Minnesota. After graduating from the University of Minnesota in 1972, Steen studied with Jacques Lecoq in Paris.
Career[]
After returning from Paris, she made her home in Los Angeles where she continued acting on stage and began acting television, before taking up writing, and ultimately producing.
As an actor her first screen credit came in an episode of Charlie's Angels (1977) followed by a small role in The Kentucky Fried Movie (1977) she followed up with more TV credits, in shows like M.A.S.H. (1978) The Incredible Hulk (!978), and Taxi (1979). She also appeared in the TV Movies, Son-Rise: A Miracle of Love (1979) and Lois Gibbs and the Love Canal (1982). Her last screen credits as an actor came in Hot Shots! Part Deux (1993) and the TV Series I'm With Her (2004).
From the start of the 80's Nancy moved more and more into writing while acting, starting as a staff writer and story editor for Police Squad! (82), before moving to Happy Days (82 - 84) in the same writer / editor capacity, while also making an appearance onscreen on the show in 1984. During the same period she also worked as writer and script consultant on the New Odd Couple (1983).
She also wrote episodes for Dreams (1984), Mr. Belvedere (1985), Tall Tales & Legends (1986), multiple episodes of The Love Boat (1985 - 1986).
She also wrote and produced Webster (1986 - 1988) and Night Court (1988-1990). She also created, wrote and produced an American adaptation of the hit British comedy Birds of a Feather in 1992 entitled Stand by Your Man, but only 7 episodes were shot/aired. After writing an episode of Married...with Children (1994), she wrote and executive produced multiple episodes of Roseanne (1996-1997), wrote for and was consulting producer on Caroline in the City (1997-1998) Jesse (1998-2000) and Titus (2002), I'm with Her (2003 - 2004) and What I Like About You (2003 - 2005).

Nancy Steen appeared as the Soccer-Mom-ish racist / white supremacist Helen Anderson, a member of Boulder's Pure Power League who Mork gets involved with, and who ends up attacking Mindy's apartment due to the Polish blood in her family.
