Marilyn Kagan (June 12, 1951 - ) is an American Actress and trained psychotherapist, radio and TV talk show hostess, who appeared in Season 4's Long Before We Met as Althea, an old High School friend of Mindy and Glenda Faye.

Biography[]

In the mid 80s Marilyn called a halt to her screen career to attend college and train as a psychotherapist. Her background in the business as well as her personal expertise means that she is well known and respected as one of the media’s most sought-after psychological experts. Her popular talk show on Los Angeles radio station KFI aired for seven years, and she hosted the Emmy-nominated The Marilyn Kagan Show for three years. Additionally, she’s been a frequent commentator on all of the major television networks, including a stint as guest host on E! Channel’s Talk Soup.

Career[]

Marilyn made her screen debut opposite Jodie Foster and Scott Baio in the movie Foxes, as Madge one of the four girls the movie was about. She then went on appear in 1984's The Initiation, and 1986's The Ladies Club. She appeared in TV Movies The Perfect Match (1980) and The Violation of of Sarah McDavid, as well TV shows, Hart to Hart (1983), Married with Children (1993) and Ellen (1996).

Marilyn hosted the Marylin Kagan Show, which lasted for only ten episodes in 1995.

Mork & Mindy[]

Marilyn appeared in the show as the super enthused Althea, the about ready to pop pregnant, fellow alumni and classmate of Mindy and Glenda Faye at the High School reunion. Althea, having disappeared from the memory of Mindy but not of Glenda, and whose proclivities of 'having fun' with Paul Reubens' Dickie Nimitz in the library back in the day, probably goes some way to explaining her current condition.
