Lorrie Mahaffey (September 12, 1956) is an American actress and vocalist who appeared as Ann, one of the Denver Bronco Cheerleaders, in the Season 2 Episode, Hold That Mork.
Biography[]
Lorrie Mahaffey was born on September 12, 1956 in the USA. She met Anson Williams, then well known for playing 'Potsie' on Happy Days, while she was performing at Opryland in Nashville. She introduced herself to him before a rehearsal. The two shared a certain connection due to a mutual love for country music.
Mahaffey moved to L.A. to be near him. She played a variety of performances at the Holiday Inn with a rock band to get some money. “Happy Days” executives went to see her at a performance at an airport, due to Williams’ suggestion. This is how she would soon end up on the show six months later.
She and Anson Williams would go on to marry on the 5th of May 1978. They would have a daughter together, before they divorced in 1986.
Career[]
Lorrie got her first screen credit for Music Hall America (1976), before appearing in the TV Series Greatest Heroes of the Bible (1978), she then went on to appear in Who's Watching the Kids (1978), before landing the role of Jennifer Jerome in Happy Days (1978 - 79) appearing in 6 episodes of the show.
She went to appear in BJ & The Bear (1979) and The Adventures of Sherriff Lobo (1981). She and then husband Anson Williams then hosted a variety show Anson & Lorrie (1981) before she went on to play the part of Julie in Romance Theatre (1982).
Mork & Mindy[]
Lorrie appeared in Season 2's Hold That Mork, as a fictional Denver Bronco Cheerleader Ann, among the real members of the squad. Once Mork expresses a desire to try out for the squad, she and fellow fictional cheerleader Kathy come to Mindy's apartment to help train him.
Once there they set Mork straight on the amount of work one has to do to be part of the squad, and Mindy about this being a part time past time for them, both of them Ann actually being a teacher of Literature...which helps to undermine Mindy's explanation of of Mork's extreme behavior at the sight of her Pom Poms, as his rehearsing for a Russian Play. 'Attack of the Exploding Hybigonees'...by Chekov. Ann clearly never having heard of it.
Both women successfully get Mork under way in his quest to join the squad and advocate for him with Pam Stockhaus the squad manager.
