Joshua Raoul Brody is an American actor, pianist, composer, arranger, music director,  vocal coach and teacher who appeared as Raoul part of The Stupids along with Rick & Ruby, the band playing at Da Vinci's Restaurant in Season 3's Mork and Mindy Meet Rick and Ruby.

Biography[]

Joshua Brody was born in New York City, New York, USA.

In the early 70s he began collaborating with The Residents'an American multimedia art and music group originating from Shreveport, Louisiana, appearing as part of The Residents’ Sam’s Enchanted Evening, During this time Joshua joined the musical comedy trio Rick & Ruby, made up of him, Brian 'Rick' Seff and Monica 'Ruby' Ganas, the latter of whom performed lead vocals on their 1978 track The Electrocutioner.

He is best known for his work providing instant accompaniment for improv groups like BATS Improv (for whom he is music director), True Fiction Magazine, and Awkward Dinner Party, among many others. With his songwriting partner Merle “Ian Shoales” Kessler, he has co-created several “one-man shows so big it takes two guys, sometimes a gal, and a six-pack of beer to do them”.[1]

Career[]

Playing large venues all across the country with Rick & Ruby, garnered the trio national exposure in 1979 through their work with Robin Williams on his National Tour. Through their connections with Robin and Paul Pee Wee Herman' Reubens as well as a stint at the Comedy Store they decided to move down to LA in 1980, and started to make on screen appearances.[2]

As an actor Brody has 3 credits to his name, starting with Mork & Mindy in 1981.[3]

As a composer he worked on the TV show Liquid Television (1991), the short movie Enjoy (1998) and movies Suckerfish (1999) and Mission Movie (2004).

Mork & Mindy[]

Brody played Raoul the longsuffering keyboardist with The Stupids who with the rest of the band has travelled from Akron, Ohio to play in Da Vinci's and has to deal with lead guitarist Rick's and lead singers Ruby bickering and inherent stupidity that isn't part of the act.
