Jake Loomis, played by Pat Cranshaw, is the head cameraman at KTNS-TV where Mindy works.
Character summary[]
Jake is an old timer in TV, into his 29th year at KTNS (in Season 4), and describes TV as his life. He states that the only things that matter to him are staying in focus and going home early.
Personality[]
Curmudgeonly, grouchy, and fairly misanthropic, Jake doesn't really care about anything except doing his job, to the point where he's quite happy to threaten anyone who may take it away from him (Metamorphosis, the TV Show).

Mindy McConnell - Most of what we see of Jake is framed through the lens of Mindy's work at the network, and he is one of the few people who does not seem to warm to her. Most of his time interacting with her is spent in critiquing her, or taking some pleasure in her discomfort and is utterly disinterested in offering her any advice, professional or personal.
Mork - Though not strictly a work relationship, by default Jake has encountered Mork through Mindy and appreciates Mork's ability in front of the camera (Mindy Gets Her Job,; I Heard It Through the Morkvine), though some of that is undoubtedly because he enjoyed the smutty rumors Mork dreamt up, when Mindy wouldn't.
