About Horace Burnett[]
Mr. Burnett heads up the Administrative section of the Hospital Mindy has been checked in to, to have her tonsils out. After an already over protective Mork slowly discovers the primitive state of Earth surgery and has started to fret hugely over Mindy's wellbeing, Burnett is faced with a completely panicked Orkan after Mork has discovered that the Hospital has 'lost' Mindy. Burnett a little mystified when Mork offers him a dollar bill, before Mork says it was explained to him that the 'buck stops' with him.
Trying to calm Mork, Burnett misunderstands when Mork tells him that Mindy has gone, and tries to commiserate with him over her loss, assuring him that he's sure the hospital did everything they could to save her. After Mork clarifies he means the hospital has lost her, Burnett at first seems shocked. He tries to re-assure Mork that it should be fine, after all how far can she get in bare feet and a gown that opens up down the back. However, he then hits the com system to ask his secretary Miss Chayefsky to contact the hospitals lawyers with the code, 'The Eagle Has Landed'. To which she replies 'Again?', agitating Burnett.
Clear this is not the first time its happened its seems. While Burnett tries to calm Mork and re-assures him, his first concern is really only for the hospital. He attempts to try and get Mork to sign a waiver, exonerating the hospital from anything that might happen to Mindy.
Once Mork cottons on to that he is both shocked and indignant. Burnett says its not his fault, that they don't give him enough money for staff or resources. But insists he can't help Mork find her till he signs the form. Mork stands firm and tells him he'll find her on his own if he has to, which Burnett tells him he can't do as visiting hours are over. Perhaps Mork tells him but 'rescue hors' have only just begun. Grabbing back his dollar bill he tells Burnett to take his form and and 'file it', before heading off on his search.
After Mork hijacks another doctor and steals his surgical gear to try and track Mindy down incognito, and ending up in a tussle with Dr. Roland and the Ward Nurse over her after finding her, Burnett turns up to calm the chaos. He confirms to the medical staff that Mork is correct and that Mindy is in fact Mindy and not Mrs. McDonald heading for brain surgery.
