About Glenda Faye[]
Glenda is Mindy's oldest friend. And despite also being a blonde bombshell is in many ways the anti-Susan Taylor. Hugely gregarious, and generous Glenda seems to have a wider circle of friends in Boulder High School (or at least more awareness of others) than even Mindy (Reflections and Regrets). A glamorous blonde with a bubbly, fun loving personality, who adores dancing, she was already dating a college man by the time of her Prom.
Her whirlwind life, and eventual marriage to beloved husband Randolph, took and kept her away from Boulder and it was only after his untimely death that, newly widowed, she returned to live there, recover, and ultimately resume her friendship with Mindy.
By a quirk of fate, as part of her recovery she joined a support group, where she met Mindy's cousin, Nelson Flavor (Jim Staahl), Nelson, himself seeking help to become a more relaxed individual. His stable nature and her spontaneity saw them partnered off as support buddies. Eventually they began to date but with her bereavement still very fresh, Glenda is keener to keep things light than the more ardent Nelson, though she and Nelson, Mork & Mindy do go on trips together in double couple form (Alas, Poor Mork, We Knew Him Well).
Despite being outwardly flighty, not particularly knowledgeable, and a bit of an airhead, Glenda is far deeper than she looks and a very good friend to Mindy as well as developing a strong friendship with Jeanie.
Unsurprisingly given her own optimistic sociable nature she also adores Mork who she treats as an amusing imp, often calling him 'pixie pants' and other terms of endearment, and when he has trouble fitting in with one portion of her friends goes out of her way to help him (Mork, the Swinging Single).
Independently wealthy, and newly widowed her lifestyle gives Mindy, especially, a window into how the other half live but also what the most important things in life are (Mork the Prankster; Reflections and Regrets).

- Glenda; I throw it away!
- Mindy: Glenda you' d throw away a perfectly good stereo?
- Glenda: Well I'd take the records off first
- Nelson: Isn't that a little bit wasteful?
- Glenda: No, not really. I do it to relieve stress. You see I don't just throw things away, I give them a sound thrashing first.
