Dr. Benton Phillips, aka 'Dr. Ducky' is a pediatrician who works in the Clinic on the Pearl Street Mall, and who in desperation is called upon by Fred when Mork's Birthday arrives and he slowly slides into the symptoms that if not corrected could lead to his death, in the events of Season 1's Mork Runs Down. He is played by Henry Polic II.

About Dr. Benton Phillips[]

Dr. Benton Phillips, is a tall dark, quite good looking pediatrician, who to make his kids comfortable while treating them uses funny voices, sock puppets and a bunny eared stethoscope.

Dr. Phillips is called upon when an increasingly worried Mindy, faced with a Mork suffering memory loss and aberrant behavior (even for him), tells her father in the Music Store, that despite the risk of revealing the truth about Mork he needs to see a Doctor. Fred agrees and takes off to see if he can get the doctor from the clinic on the mall. As Mindy discovers the note Mork left for himself, informing himself that if he doesn't use his Gleek, he'll be dead within 2 hours.

Fred returns quickly with Dr. Phillips who immediately introduces himself as Dr. Ducky, with the sock puppet on his hand, only to immediately 'notice' that Mork is no kid. Making it clear that he treats kids, Mindy looks to her father who resignedly tells her it was either him, or a foot doctor. But Phillips asserts he is a fully professional doctor.

On Mindy's nod Mork lets him take his temperature, and Phillips is startled to get a reading of 63F, declaring that impossible. Immediately pulling out his bunny eared adorned stethoscope (Benny the Bunny and his magic stethoscope) he checks for Mork's heartbeat, but can't find any. Telling them either he has a defective stethoscope or Mork's heart has stopped, Fred prevails upon Mindy to tell Phillips the truth about Mork. She resists at first due to the repercussions and the promise they made to Mork, but Fred insists to, as its his life at stake. With no other option, Mindy tells Phillips the truth about Mork being an alien.

Phillips backs off before he rationalizes that the McConnell's have somehow worked a practical joke on him and tampered with his instruments, getting demonstrably angry. Storming to the door he leaves telling them no one makes a fool of Dr. Ducky.
