Clint Mullet played by Jeff Altman, is a wannabe 'Ace Reporter' who is actually just a copy boy with the Boulder Evening Sun who comes into Mork and Mindy's lives in Season 1s Mork Goes Public Out to make his name by uncovering the truth about 'the lights' in the sky the night that Mork landed, Clint is convinced Mindy is lying about her experiences that night.

Character summary[]

Clint enters the Music Store one day in search of Mindy he introduces himself as Clint Mullet, ace reporter with the Boulder Evening Sun, but a journalism student herself, Mindy isn't buying he's a reporter by the way he's acting, and he admits he's actually just a copy boy.

However, he does know that a couple of months ago she was up at Boulder Lake with Bill Mason, though he won't tell her how he knows that. He then asks her if she saw anything strange that night. Warily, she asks him like what. Clint tells Mindy 12 people in the area she was in saw glowing flying objects, it was a dark night so he wants to know why she *didn't*. With Mindy not telling him anything, Clint tries to pump Mork for information about her, and whether she has an interest in aliens, not realizing from Mork's ambiguous answers both the extent of Mindy's 'interest' in aliens and the fact he's talking to who he's looking for.

Determined to find out more, Clint breaks in to Mindy's apartment climbing through the window, where he's shadowed by Mork until Mindy returns home with her father. Furious at Clint's actions she tries to throw him out, until he starts to claim that he knows what she's hiding. Disabusing him of the notion that nothing he's seen is proof of anything, he confesses to them that there is a large cash sum available for anyone who provides proof of alien life, which he offers to them all if they help him. All he wants is the exclusive rights to the story, so he can make his name.

When he leaves, unknown to them, Mork overhears Fred & Mindy talking about how nice it would be to have that money to help with Fred's home repairs, the store and Mindy's tuition. Fred having earlier pushed him out of the way of a truck, and owing Mindy much, Mork resolves later, despite them trying to dissuade him, that he will turn himself in and give them the reward money. He calls Clint to Mindy's apartment, wearing his full uniform, with helmet, he has just about started to convince a disbelieving Clint that he's an alien when Mindy turns up dressed as a 'Cat Woman from Mars', followed shortly by Fred as 'Fredso from Scherzo', who through pre set up (and obvious) tricks convince Clint they're all just out to pull the wool over his eyes, and he leaves in a huff, telling Mork he is the least believable alien of all of them.

Personality[]

Clint is very ambitious and has a pretty good nose for a story, better than his bosses give him credit for. However, while he's cynical and suspicious, like a good reporter, he's not the most observant of individuals. He is also not above breaking the law to get what he wants, using a ladder to climb up to Mindy's upper storey window and into her apartment.
