Bruce Elliot Kalish (born May 22, 1952 in Los Angeles, California) is a television writer and producer, who along with writing partner Phillip John Taylor penned 3 episodes of Mork & Mindy in Season 2.

Biography[]

He is the son of veteran TV producers Austin Kalish and Irma Kalish who had worked on Norman Lear led shows like Good Times and Maude. He has been married to actress Leah Ayres since 1990. Their son, Mackenzie Austin Kalish, was born on June 21, 1993. An Adjunct Professor of Screenwriting, he has been teaching in LMU SFTV’s screenwriting department for more than five years.

Career[]

His first screen credit as a writer came on CBS's short lived Saturday sitcom, Big John, Little John (1976), from then he moved to writing for shows like The Amazing Spiderman, The Incredible Hulk, What's Happening!, Carter Country. And went on to serve as writer and executive producer on The Fall Guy.

His more recent work on The Famous Jett Jackson won numerous awards, including the Gemini award for best show in 2002 and led him to be tapped by Disney as Executive Producer and writer for Power Rangers, starting with 2005's Power Rangers: S.P.D. and ending with 2008's Power Rangers: Jungle Fury. Kalish's other television credits include Good Times, Eight Is Enough, 227, What's Happening!!, Too Close for Comfort, Strange Days at Blake Holsey High Aaron Stone and most recently Mudpit

Mork & Mindy[]

With writing partner Philip Taylor, Bruce Kalish, contributed to 4 2nd Season stories as writer, and working on a further 12 that season as story editor. One of his contributions as a writer being, unfortunately, the episode (alongside the Necroton Double Header) widely regarded as the weakest installment, the Mork as Cheerleader episode 'Hold that Mork'.
