Al Kelvins is the owner of 1619 Pine Street, and the Landlord of both Mindy McConnell and Franklin Bickley, who appears in the episode Mindy, Mindy, Mindy, and is played by Larry Gelman.

About Al Klevins[]

Like the DaVinci's, Al Klevins is a native of The Bronx, NY. who up stakes and moved to Boulder, where he has purchased and rents out several properties. While Mindy is away for the weekend to cover the 'Winter Wheat Conference' in Topeka, Kansas, Bickley drops up to let Mork know that his and Mindy's landlord, Al Klevins, will be dropping by to install smoke detectors in their apartments, and on noticing the state of the apartment, Mork slowly melting down without Mindy, tells Mork he better get the place in shape. Klevins, he informs him is a creep and has tossed tenants out for having their doormat crooked.

Klevins arrives shortly after the arrival of The Elder, who on the occasion of his birthday has dropped by from Ork to visit, chiefly in the hope of spending time with Mindy 'The Soft Lapped One', only to be bitterly disappointed by her absence. Before Klevins arrives, Mork & The Elder decided to address their missing Mindy by cloning her, setting up the process in Mork's attic room. Unfortunately for them cloning 'A Mindy' proves a lot harder than expected as humans are a lot more complex then they expect, and soon there are a number of Mindy Clones, an hyper intelligent one, a super athletic/competitive one, and a seriously oversexed one.

Thankfully for Mork each can be 'turned off' by pressing a spot on the underside of their left foot, but with Klevins arrived to put in the smoke detectors, and in Mindy's bedroom, Mork has to start stacking them in the Armoire every time he manages to switch one off. Unfortunately for Mork, he catches sight of him stacking the last of them, the oversexed one, in the armoire, and thinking Mork has murdered Mindy rushes to call the police, getting in touch with them, right as the real Mindy gets home, which pretty much causes both men to collapse.

Mork manages to 'explain' what Klevins saw by retrieving the 'Mindy Mop' (a mop with Mindy's Jeans and a sweater, with picture attached to the mop head) that he was dancing with/romancing before The Elder arrived) from inside. Which is enough to clear Mork of murder, in Klevins eyes, but with Mindy backing Mork's explanation as 'reasonable' convinced they're both crazy and thinking he'll head back to the Bronx where it's safe.

Personality[]

Kelvins is grouchy, demanding, impatient, and not overly happy with having to deal with Mork rather than his tenant, Mindy. He is quick however to react when he thinks Mork has done something to her, and probably.
